Kurt Fairbank
Director, LAC, MSMHC

Kurt Fairbank is our Director and head counselor. Kurt is a Licensed Addiction Counselor, and carries a Master of Science Degree in Mental Health Counseling. You will not find an individual more devoted to the health and well-being of the young men he works with every day. As the son of our founder, Kurt has grown up 'in the business' his entire life and has been working with at-risk youth for over a decade. Prior to joining Building Bridges, Kurt worked as a counselor at a wilderness based program. Both his lifelong experience with Building Bridges and his fresh perspectives make Kurt an indispensable member of our team.

Steve Fairbank
Counselor, LAC, NCACII

Steve Fairbank is our founder and former Director. He is a Nationally Certified Addiction Counselor II, a Licensed Addiction Counselor, and has over 25 years experience in dealing with at-risk youth and their families. Working closely with each student, Steve helps them navigate their emotional and behavioral roadblocks towards a healthy, sober, and manageable life.

Peter Reinschmidt
Counselor, LACa

Pete joined our team in 2013 and has been an invaluable asset ever since. Some time ago, Pete found he had a passion for counseling and helping young men succesfully navigate their way to recovery. He is currently working underneath Kurt as an LACa which he will complete over the next several months. Pete is also continuing his educational path and plans on attaining a Master's Degree in the near future.

Andy Burwig
Academic Coordinator

Andy Burwig is our Academic Coordinator and is responsible for ensuring all of our students are set up for academic success. Over the years he has developed a close and well-respected relationship with the administration and teachers at Thompson Falls High School, a relationship which is a key factor in getting our students enrolled in the right classes and caught up if they are behind. For those students enrolled in our home school, Andy is their teacher and facilitator, guiding them towards skills which will help them succeed in the public school and beyond.

Jill Fairbank
Admissions

Many of our new or prospective parents will have the opportunity to speak with Jill. Her main focus is to help parents determine if our program is the right match for their son, guide them through our admissions process, and help coordinate their son's arrival. Jill is also our voice in the community. She organizes many of our community service projects and works closely with various Thompson Falls organizations in order to find numerous ways for our students to be involved in the community.

Sarah Fairbank
Admissions

Sarah has been with us since 2006, bringing with her a fresh perspective. She handles admissions , manages our marketing and accounting, and was our primary liaison in the licensing process for programs in Montana. She is driven to improving our program in any way she can and almost any new feature of our program in the last six years has come from Sarah.

Debby Sacchi
Office Manager

Debby Sacchi manages our office, and makes sure all of our i's are dotted and our t's crossed. She is the voice and glue of Building Bridges, making contact with all of our parents to make sure all those important but easily overlooked details are managed. All mail, packages, prescriptions, and doctor's appointments go through her as well as making sure there is food in the pantry, and supplies on the shelves.

Bud Berman
Support Staff

As one of our key support staff, Bud works directly with the students and has become one of their primary role models. Bud has a wealth of life and work experiences that he shares with the students. Every day, Bud brings with him a strong work ethic and demonstrates that to the students through his words and actions. Our students benefit greatly from their day to day interactions with him.

Alton Steinhoff
Support Staff

As another key member of our support staff, Alton provides a life time of experience and knowledge which he uses as a guide for all the students. In the fall months Alton is a hunting guide and is intimately familiar with our local wilderness, a skill that is particularly useful over any of our outdoor treks. Over the summer, Alton is one of our lead staff on our backpacking and hiking trips.
