A Complete Program
Building Bridges provides alcohol and drug education for youth
dealing with varying levels of substance abuse, as well as a
behavioral and therapeutic program for troubled teens who are exhibiting poor
academic achievement, lack of motivation and behavioral problems, low
self-esteem, depression, anger management issues, difficulty with
authority, and dishonesty. The importance of family is stressed heavily.
We provide “family” interaction, recreational activities, ranch style
work therapy, and strong counseling support. Individual psychotherapy is available for
students. Our experienced support team understands at-risk youth
issues, study strategies and cooperative learning. Building Bridges,
Inc., involves parents by providing regularly scheduled communications
and visits.
A typical day in our Residential and Therapeutic School program has teens preparing their own breakfast, attending school, doing chores and participating in weekends and school vacations that include home-based projects and mini “road trips”. Our residential students complete a second summer program, sharing their insights and experience with incoming students.
Our students learn the basics of responsibility and accountability, whether by making beds, doing daily household chores, experiencing appropriate consequences for negative actions or behaviors in a nurturing family setting.
Our Program Director is a nationally certified Chemical Dependency Counseling Professional and has vast experience in counseling youths (NCAC and LAC) with substance related and non-substance related problems. He also has years of experience in working with and counseling families suffering from dysfunction and the stresses of today’s difficult world.
